Our School

Welcome to Comet Hill Primary School

Comet Primary School strives to provide a friendly, caring and supportive environment that enables students to develop and acquire the necessary skills, strategies and knowledge to continue to be life long learners and function productively in the community.

Our school is situated on Holmes Rd, Bendigo next to the Bendigo Showgrounds. In 2008 we have an enrolment of 161 students. We also have 33 Koorie students who, with their families, make a wonderful contribution to the school’s culture. We have a fantastic staff dedicated to the wellbeing and learning of our students.

We have  7 teachers, 7 classroom support aides, an Art/Drama specialist and a Speech Classroom Support aide.

Comet Hill Primary provides a wide range of learning experiences for every student through curriculum programs in all key learning areas. Educational opportunities are enhanced through the:

  • Excellence & Enrichment Program ­embraces a total-school approach that caters for the gifted and talented as well as the enrichment needs of every student

  • Learning Technology Program ­ an enhanced program supported by Learning Technology teachers working with students in a wide range of settings 

  • Performing Arts Program ­ an extensive program incorporating an annual musical and dance groups

  • Sports Program ­ an extensive inter and intra program 

  • Extension Class Program ­ a wide range of classes are offered after school

The principles of effective learning and teaching together with cooperative planning and teaching underpin Comet Hill's educational programs from Prep to Year Six.
